Dear Philadelphia Section STLE Members,

On behalf of the STLE Philadelphia Section, I want to welcome you to the 2024–2025 Program Year.  I look forward to meeting you at our events and meetings.

Education is the cornerstone of the Philadelphia Section.  Our meetings are a great place to expand your knowledge of tribology and lubrication and an opportunity to support our next generation of tribologists.

Even the most seasoned professional can learn from the Philadelphia Section’s six technical meetings during our 2024-25 program.  Speakers include expert tribologists in a variety of fields.  And the collegial format gives guests the opportunity to ask questions, meet and interact with the speakers.  Further, we invite student scholarship winners to present their cutting-edge research at Section meetings.

The Philadelphia Section supports education from Middle School through Graduate School.  Local STLE members judge at the Delaware Valley Science Fair and give awards to five aspiring students interested in science and technology.

In 2024, our Scholarship program awarded $14,000 to 12 local undergraduate and graduate students.  Our goal is to expand this tradition in 2025 with the generous support of our members and corporate sponsors.

We begin our program year with a September networking event and conclude with the traditional Ed Haney golf outing.  These events are not only terrific opportunities to meet and mingle with industry colleagues, but they also raise money to support the Scholarship program.

Dedicated volunteers make this all possible, and I am pleased to introduce the Philadelphia Section’s support team for 2024-25:
