Regional Sales Manager

Purpose This position is responsible for growing new ARG sales. This position will have account management responsibilities but is tasked as the hunter within a specified territory supporting all of ARG’s product segments. This position will work internally with Marketing and Inside Sales to continually drive for new customers in existing and new markets. This position reports to the Director of Sales. Performance Areas Sales Growth: • Identification and acquisition of new customers to support ARG business plans. • Building and maintaining a sales pipeline with a high conversion rate. • Networking within the industry to drive new leads and opportunities. Account Management: • Develop annual business plans with customers to increase share of wallet. • Establish relationships at all levels of the account from the senior level through Purchasing, R&D, Operations, etc. Market Feedback: • Provide marketplace and competitor feedback to Product and Business Managers, Operations and Research and Development through participation in ARG’s product focus groups. • When appropriate, initiate the established Product Development Process. • Log all customer interactions into the ARG CRM. Training & Development: • Completion of all ARG trainings – develop product with applications, competitor and industry expertise. • Attend industry conferences and seminars to drive continued market education and development. • Participate in local industry associations. Skills Requirements Hunter mentality – Must be motivated to land new business. Managing accounts is part of this role but the main drive is new business Strong Work ethic –Demonstrated resilience and persistence to land new business and grow existing business while adhering to ARG’s core values. Relationship Management – Expertise in establishing, growing and maintaining relationships based on trust, transparency and open communication at all levels within an organization. A team player who brings others together with collaboration being an integral ingredient to success in this position. Value-Based Selling-Demonstrated ability in sales differentiation based on ARG’s competitive advantage and not solely on price. Technical/Industry Expertise – In-depth knowledge of the refining industry. Must understand end market applications and performance advantages/differentiators of products and services. Education – Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical engineering with 4to 7 years of related sales and/or marketing experience. Travel – This role requires up to 70% travel
