Croda is seeking a Sales Development Specialist – Advanced Materials for our New Castle, DE office. The Sales Development Specialist will be responsible for developing new markets in the Advanced Materials (AdMat) market space via direct customer contact, training and support of sales people in North America and collaboration with the global AdMat team.
Identify and develop opportunities for both existing and new products in new applications – such as quantum dots, OLEDs, electronic inks and batteries – in conjunction with sales teams in the region and the global AdMat team.
Manage and support the launch and promotion of new products.
Develop and maintain up-to-date, relevant technical, regulatory and market knowledge. Provide technical and marketing expertise for the promotion of products, supported by technical teams as appropriate.
Provide training of sales force and customers on relevant new products and applications, markets and regulatory environments.
Identify unmet market opportunities and develop strategies and product offer to access these market opportunities.
Plan and carry out global and local marketing initiatives and new product launches as appropriate, together with the marketing teams.
Develop and maintain the local sales/marketing strategy, including consideration of technical and promotional plans.
Attend, participate in and follow up on specific conferences/exhibitions.
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other technical field.
SAMA courses, Dale Carnegie courses in sales and public speaking.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Minimum of 5 years’ sales or marketing experience within the specialty chemical industry
Preference for Advanced Materials market expertise
Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork and organizational skills required
Up to 25% travel required
Perform all duties within the Company’s safety, health and environmental regulations. All other duties as assigned by management.
