Job description

The Market Development Manager, Transparent Specialty Polymers, is responsible for profitable growth of the product portfolio by interacting with customers, end-users and other value chain participants to generate sufficient interest in INEOS Styrolution products that leads to successful approvals in new applications and extensions of existing applications.1. Accountable for delivering growth in assigned market segments through identifying, developing, and closing sales in new applications at existing and new accounts.2. Responsible for developing and presenting a comprehensive view of assigned market segments including a synopsis of value chain interactions, resin needs/usage summary, identification of technical requirements, and identification of any potential obstacles to growth.3. Responsible for understanding product line strategic needs and applying those needs to his/her assigned market segments to grow in areas where there is strategic alignment.4. Responsible for negotiating and presenting Commercial offers to end-users who have successfully qualified Transparent Specialty polymers in new applications.5. The Market Development Manager acts as a commercial sponsor for new product development throughout the full development cycle. This includes responsibility for translating customer needs and unmet technical requirement into product technical features the business can understand and quantify and then communicating those needs to the product development team.6. Responsible for identifying, monitoring and reporting competitive technologies and threats in assigned segments.7. Responsible for presenting product innovations or new offerings directly to customers and for presenting such innovations to a wider audience at trade shows.

Level of education & Knowledge:Preferred BS in Engineering, Business or Finance;MBA strongly preferred but not required

Experience in general:5+ years of chemical or polymers industry experience preferred

Technical skills:Basic understanding of plastic resin terminology including performance measures and product attributes.Basic understanding of plastic processing and forming methods.

Competencies, Behavioral skills:Experience analyzing markets and value chains.Strong analytical skills and ability to act entrepreneurial. Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills.Financial acumen.Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
